Angel City Brewery, located in the Downtown Arts District, has been brewing since 1997, and is a strong part of LA’s raft beer renaissance. In 2004 Angel City bought an 8,000 barrel German-made brewery from Alpine Village in Torrance on EBay!, restored it, and in 2010, relocated to the historic John A. Roebling Building on Alameda St. and 3rd St. Angel City was acquired by Alchemy & Science, a craft beer collaboration in 2012 and re-launched with a new line of beers that are available in bars and restaurants across LA. They have also thoroughly renovated their brewing facility and tap room and opened their Public House bar, which serves 10 beers, including some exclusively available at the brewery. Angel City offers brewhouse tours, and holds fun, special events every week, including Food Truck gatherings and Taco Trivia Night. Bottles and growlers of Angel City brews, and merchandise are available in their on-site retail store.
