If you want to take advantage of LA’s seaside setting, the World Cruise Center in San Pedro offers exciting year-round sailing itineraries. With more than a dozen of the world’s largest cruise lines, passengers set sail every day on voyages to Mexico and Hawaii. You can also take cruises to nearby locations such as Catalina Island. Check with the specific cruise companies for more details about seasonal offerings out of Los Angeles.
Located in the Port of Los Angeles, the World Cruise Center is in the historic waterfront community of San Pedro, just steps from restaurants, shops and attractions for all ages. You can stroll over to Ports O' Call Marketplace and enjoy shopping in the international boutiques, art galleries and artist studios, peruse the historic and maritime museums, and dine on the LA waterfront as ships from around the world sail past.
As the West Coast gateway to North America and the seventh busiest airport in the world, Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) -- located just 18 miles north of San Pedro -- offers tremendous nonstop service from all around the world. Getting from the airport to the cruise port is simple, too, with LA’s variety of transportation options. If you’re flying into and out of LAX, you can catch a door-to-door SuperShuttle van right outside the baggage claim area at the designated “van stop” area. You can also rent a car at the airport’s on-site rental car counter and park in the spacious parking area at the World Cruise Center.
Getting around San Pedro is easy, with convenient access to several Metro bus lines and ample public parking. The vintage-style San Pedro Electric Trolley serves a six-mile route running between the World Cruise Center, downtown San Pedro and Ports ‘O Call Marketplace. In addition, the Red Car Line runs a vintage trolley car along a 1.5-mile track connecting cruise passengers with attractions and restaurants up and down the waterfront.
For added convenience, Los Angeles Tourism operates a self-service Visitor Information Center at the port, located at Berth 93, Pacific Cruise Ship Terminal, San Pedro, CA 90731.
Cruising from LA gives you the best of all worlds — easy arrival and departure, a memorable experience in one of the world’s top ports plus a great cruise.
