Bike Week Los Angeles is an annual week of community events sponsored by Metro to promote bicycling as a sustainable and practical transportation and rideshare mode. Bike Week LA takes place Monday, May 12 through Sunday, May 18, and coincides with National Bike Month (May) and National Bike to Work Week (May 12-18). Bike Week activities are open to the public and include Fix Your Bike workshops, guided rides, Bike to Work Day, Bike Local discounts, and a special closing event at Union Station.

Bike Week LA kicks off at Union Station on Monday, May 12 from 9-11 a.m. Local and regional transportation agencies, bicycle advocacy groups and more are scheduled to participate.
The 11th Annual Blessing of the Bicycles takes place at the Good Samaritan Hospital on Tuesday, May 13 from 8-9:30 a.m. Enjoy some sweet treats and celebrate this year’s recipient of the Golden Spoke Award, an honor given every year to an individual who has improved bicycle safety in Los Angeles.
During Bike Week LA, Hump Day becomes Guided Ride Day, taking place on Wednesday, May 14. Guided rides are scheduled throughout the day and across the city. One ride takes you from Union Station to Boyle Heights on a leisurely, scenic ride so you can experience some of L.A. County’s bicycle networks. Meet at 8 a.m. at Patsaouras Bus Plaza. The ride departs promptly at 8:30 a.m. and returns at 9:30 a.m.
Celebrate Bike to Work Day on Thursday, May 15. Free rides for Bike to Work participants are being offered on Metro Bus and Metro Rail, as well as numerous local bus lines. Nearly 100 “pit stops” across L.A. County are offering everything from coffee and refreshments to continental breakfast and giveaways. Fill out the online Bike to Work Day Pledge Form, and you’ll be entered to win great prizes, including a new bike from REI.
Bike Week LA closes out with Metro Bike Night, a special evening event taking place at Union Station in the Fred Harvey Room and courtyard area on Friday, May 16 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. This free event features special guests, live music, food trucks, outdoor booths, free bike valet, bike shorts, trivia, bike portraits and a fashion show. There’s also a raffle with a chance to win a Tern folding bike, a one-year supply of Clif Bar products, Abus U-locks, 30-Day Metro passes, Bike Week LA special edition t-shirts and more.
