The start of the New Year marks the beginning of LA’s awards season - the best time of year to mix some blue skies with some red carpet. Kicking off the Awards Season in LA is the People’s Choice Awards. This fan-favorite takes place at Microsoft Theater at L.A. LIVE on Jan. 9, and tickets are available to the public at Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.com). The GRAMMY Awards is the next big show in LA, taking place at STAPLES Center on Feb. 10. While the public is not invited to the GRAMMY Awards, the GRAMMY Museum, located at L.A. LIVE, provides a history of the GRAMMY Awards and allows visitors to learn about the music process through interactive exhibits and more. The Academy Awards, which take place at Dolby Theatre in the heart of Hollywood on Feb. 24, is a star-studded event where all of the stars come to see and be seen. Don’t worry if you can’t get in to see the stars up close – just take a tour with Starline Tours, the oldest and largest sightseeing tour company in Los Angeles, having pioneered the famous Movie Stars’ Homes Tour in 1935. Also, awards junkies can check out both the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, where the first Oscars took place in 1929, and the Hollywood Palladium, where the inaugural Grammys were held 42 years later.
