The annual LA PRIDE celebration welcomes over 500,000 people each year to West Hollywood. Taking place June 6-8, 2014, the festival continues to be a major focus for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) pride in the greater Los Angeles area. The 44th annual event is being billed as a “TLGB Celebration,” to reflect this year’s focus on transgender issues. LA PRIDE is produced by Christopher Street West, a non-profit service organization composed of volunteers committed to the goals of human rights, education, outreach, and better understanding within and outside the LGBT community. Discover Los Angeles

Cinco de Mayo is an annual celebration of Mexican culture and heritage that takes place across the U.S. and regionally in Mexico, where it's known in the state of Puebla as El Día de la Batalla de Puebla (“The Day of the Battle of Puebla”). Cinco de Mayo is observed to commemorate the Mexican army's victory over the much larger, better-armed French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. The U.S. celebration of Cinco de Mayo originated in Mexican-American communities of the American West, Southwest and Northwest. Read on for our guide to Cinco de Mayo festivities throughout Los Angeles.
